Seedling Number JD01CD01081201. Parentage “Hatsugarasu” x “Hei Hua Qui”(P. suffruticosa). First bloomed 2012, first propagated 2013. Early mid-season blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are purple-black, 12.7cm (5″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are ruffled and notched, and are typically 7.5cm (3”) in diameter. Fragrance noted. Dark flares with bleeding edges transcend approximately 35% of the petal length. Five moderately hairy carpels are yellow-green, with dark maroon stigmas. Stamens are between 1.2cm and 2cm (0.5”-0.75″) in length; filaments dark in color. Fertile both ways. Sheath is dark maroon, and complete. Plants reach about 107cm (42″) at maturity, and carry broadly pointed, green foliage. Growth habit is upright.
