Parentage, Black Pirate x unnamed red suffruticosa. A single black red tree peony, (RHS 60-C) with large black flares and large petals. Medium leaf size (RHS 138-A) glaborus with light green vein-ing. Mid-season bloom, 8″ across with a sweet fragrance. First bloomed 1994. Good stem strength, holds its flowers above the foliage, one bloom per stem.
