Seedling number BJ#64 Parentage: ‘Salmon Dream’ x ‘Old Faithful’. First bloomed 2014, first propagated 2017. Previously distributed under the name ‘Burst of Spring’. Midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are an eye-catching deep, bright pink, 13cm (5″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, and average 3.8-5cm (1.5-2″) in width. Very symmetrical petal arrangement. No fragrance noted. Flowers possess on average three to four moderately hairy, pale-green carpels, with pale-pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 1.25-2cm (0.5-0.75″) long, with yellow filaments. Spatulate staminodes are uniformly bright pink, identical in color to the outer petals. Staminodal disk is obscure, but pale yellow in color. Produces pollen; seed fertility has not been noted. Plants reach 56cm (22″) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. A compact plant with a pleasing shape and foliage that drapes nearly to the ground, and, due to its consistent height, would lend itself well to use as a hedge row. R082423
