Early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, 15cm (6”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are frilled. Possesses two moderately hairy, green carpels with pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75”) in length, with yellow filaments. Has pollen, and produces seeds. Plants reach 81cm (32”) at maturity, and carry broadly pointed, green foliage with undertones of purple. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. A fine cut-flower , vigorous grower, and garden subject. Named for the hound of Hades, a multi-headed dog that guarded the gates of the underworld and prevented the dead from escaping.
