Seedling number 5-27-2. Parentage not given. First bloomed 2012, first propagated 2014. Early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are bright pink, 16cm (6.3”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are frilled. Slight fragrance noted. Possesses three moderately hairy, green carpels with dark pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with yellow filaments. Has pollen, and produces seeds. Plants reach 85cm (33.5”) at maturity, and carry broadly pointed, green foliage with undertones of purple. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. Good potential as a cut-flower. Named for the German city of Cologne, founded in the 1st century as the Roman Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium.
