Seedling number 5-20-1. Parentage not given. First bloomed 2013, first propagated 2015. Early mid-season blooming SINGLE flowers are yellow with three rows of petals, are 17cm (6.7”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Fragrance noted. Guard petals are frilled. Flowers possess on average three sparsely hairy, green carpels with light pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75”) in length. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 50cm (19.7”) at maturity, and carry broad, blunt, green foliage with undertones of purple. Growth habit is low and broad – a short plant that makes a fine garden subject. Named for the palace of the Roman Emperor Nero.
