Peony Registry

Seedling number 9-73C. Parentage: Seedling SG16 x ‘Fantasia’. First bloomed 2015, first propagated 2016. Early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pastel pink, 14cm (5.5″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, lightly ruffled, and average 5.75cm (2.25″) in width. Fragrance noted. Carpels are typically two in number, tomentose, and cream in color with watermelon-red stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are less than 1.25cm (0.5″) long, with filaments lavender-pink in color, fading to yellow at the tips. Staminodes also present, linear and spatulate in shape, and blends of ivory-white to pink with ivory striations. Fertile both ways. Disc is well-developed, and pink in color. Plants reach 71cm (28″) at maturity, and carry broad-pointed, green foliage. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary.
