Seedling No. RAISS 37. Parentage unknown. First year bloomed 2013, first propagated 2013. SINGLE, two flowers per stem, 4½-5 inches (11½-13 cm). Yellow flowers with watermelon flares extending 25% of petals’ length, edges bleeding into yellow background. Petals cupped, somewhat ruffled. Stamens present, pollen absent. Filaments yellow at base, yellow at tips, pink in between. Sheath yellow. Average of 2 carpels, very pale green, very hairy. Stigmas yellow, washed pink on leading edge, normal anatomy, no seeds. Fragrance. Early foliage emerges burgundy, matures to green. Typical Itoh Group foliage. Upright, mounded growth habit, height 36-38 inches (91-96 cm).
