Peony Registry

Parentage unknown. First bloomed 2019, first propagated 2022. Mid-season to late blooming DOUBLE flowers are red (RHS 61A), 15cm (5.6″) in diameter, and average one to three per stem. Sweet fragrance noted. Guard petals are twisted, rounded, frilled, and notched. Smooth carpels; sets seeds. Stamens fully petalized; no pollen. Plants reach 110cm (43″) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Stems are red. Growth habit is spreading, and the plant benefits from mechanical support. The flowers from a distance appear purple, then red at closer range – the crimson color is evocative of a gorgeous red gown.
