Seedling Number MD202006-03. Parentage ‘Feng Dan Bai’ x ‘Jitsugetsunishiki’. First bloomed 2018, first propagated 2020. Early-midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are rose-pink, fading to a paler pink coloration at petal edges. Apparent purplish-pink flares extend to 20% of petal lengths, with indistinct edging. Flowers are 17cm (6.7″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are flat, and are typically 7cm (2.75”) in diameter. Inner petals are twisted, frilled, and with shallow notches on edges. Fragrance noted. Flowers on average possess eight tomentose carpels that are greenish-yellow with deep rose-red stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are less than 1.2cm (0.5″) in length; filaments purplish-red in color at base, white near tips. Fertile both ways. Sheath is complete, purple in color. Plants reach about 100cm (39.4″) at maturity, and carry broad-pointed yellow-green foliage. The gradated pink petals are as attractive as a girl’s delicate eye makeup, so it is named ‘Hua Fen Xin Zhuang’.
