Seedling No. 2004-20. Parentage not given. First year bloomed 2004, first propagated 2004. SINGLE, dark purplish red, 1 flower per stem, 5½ inches (14 cm) in size. Early/midseason bloom period. No fragrance. Carpels light green, stigmas pink, makes seeds. Pollen-bearing stamens. Early foliage on emergence from ground, red. Upright growth, height to 39 inches (100 cm). The name comes from a character in Richard Wagner’s opera, Die Walküren.
