Guard petals rounded, cupped, may be shallowly notched. Inner petals smaller, notched, and somewhat ruffled A few petals have a small, normally obscure, very subtle flare extending about 10% of petals’ length. Carpels absent, no fertility. Pollen-bearing stamens embedded in amongst the center petals. Filaments ivory. Staminodes also present, pale yellow. Staminodal disc obscure. Fragrance. Early foliage emerges green. Upright growth habit, height 24 inches (61 cm), support not needed.
