Two rows of large smoothly rounded guard petals, width 3 inches (7½ cm), held cupped. Average of 3 carpels, light green, moderately hairy. Stigmas pink, normal anatomy, fertile. Center boss of pollen-bearing stamens, filaments yellow. Staminodal disc consists of a few white projections. Fragrance. Early foliage emerges green. Upright growth habit, height 22 inches (56 cm), support not needed.
