Seedling Number: Yanwo-Seedlings-2023-16. Parentage: ‘Ying Xian Xiu Hong Pao’, open pollinated. First bloomed 2020, first propagated 2023. Midseason blooming BOMB flowers are pink, 16cm (6.3″) in diameter, 16.5cm (6.5″) tall, upward facing, and average two per stem. Fragrance noted. Guard petals are flat, rounded, and average 6.5cm (2.5″) in width. Flowers possess four moderately hairy, light-yellow carpels with light-yellow stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2cm (0.5-0.75″) in length; filaments are yellow with yellow tips and anthers. Both oblanceolate and spatulate staminodes are also present, rose red in color. Produces pollen, but seed fertility has not been noted. Plants reach 100cm (39.5″) at maturity, and carry broad-pointed, green foliage. Foliage color at time of emergence is green. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. Named for the flower color and upward facing flower presentation.
