Parentage unknown. Flower form DOUBLE. Flower petals are strong purplish pink (RHS: 63B) becoming lighter purplish pink (RHS: 62B) towards the edges. Flowers are 6-7 inches (15-18 cm) in size and up-facing. Dark purple flares (RHS: N79C) extend 25-30% of petal’s length. Pollen-bearing stamens with filaments light purplish pink at the base, gradually fading to white at the tip. Carpels pale yellowish green, stigmas of similar color, fertile. Sheath partial (in that though it extends almost to the stigmas, it is vertically segmented), the color pale yellow, somewhat speckled with purplish pink.. Fragrant. Edges of fresh foliage washed red with reddish edging being retained past flowering period. Named for the flower’s fabulous fragrance.
