Peony Registry

Seedling Number: Yanwo-Seedlings-2023-06. Parentage: ‘Tian Shan Hong Xing’, open pollinated. First bloomed 2020, first propagated 2023. Midseason blooming DOUBLE flowers are light pink, 19cm (7.5″) in diameter, 18.5cm (7.3″) tall, upward facing, and average two per stem. No fragrance noted. Guard petals are rounded, and average 4.6cm (1.8″) in width. Flowers possess four to five smooth, yellow-green carpels with pink, feathered stigmas. Stamens are less than 1.25cm (0.5″) in length; filaments are yellow with yellow tips and anthers. Spatulate staminodes are also present, light pink in color. Produces pollen, but seed fertility has not been noted. Plants reach 85cm (33.5″) at maturity, and carry broadly cut, green foliage. Foliage color at time of emergence is green. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary.
