Peony Registry

Seedling number 6-28-1. Parentage not given. First bloomed 2013, first propagated 2017. Early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE red flowers with frilled petals that present an occasional well-defined, thin, white petal edge. Flowers are 14cm (5.5”) in diameter, outward facing, and averages one per stem. No fragrance noted. Bud size is 4-5cm (1.6-2”). Three very hairy, green carpels with dark pink stigmas are present. Has pollen, and produces seeds. Plants reach 70cm (27.6”) at maturity, and carry broadly pointed, green foliage with undertones of purple. Growth habit is upright, vigorous, and does not require mechanical support. Blooms with Lemon Chiffon, and before Red Charm. Possesses good potential for cut flowers. Named for Roman Emperor, Nerva.
