Parentage: ‘Hang Bai Shao’, open pollinated. First bloomed 2020, first propagated 2021. Early-Midseason blooming SINGLE flowers are rose-pink, 13cm (5.12″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one to two per stem. Pleasant fragrance noted. Guard petals are cupped and rounded, and average 4cm (1.5″) in width. Flowers possess three to four moderately hairy, yellow-green carpels with light pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are 1-2cm (0.5-0.75″), with orange-red filaments that transition to yellow at the tips. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 60cm (23.6″) at maturity, and carry broadly cut, green foliage. Foliage at the time of emergence is green. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. The flower shape is similar to ‘Hang Bai Shao’, and is a descendant of this cultivar. It inherits its mother’s excellent characteristics, such as single petal flower shape, red petals, stamens no feathered situation and develop normally and seeds ability, so it is named ‘No. 5 Hang Shao’.
