Peony Registry

Received January 09, 2022. Parentage ‘Dreamtime’ x ‘Vanilla Schnapps’. First bloomed 2014, first propagated 2017. Early season bloom. SEMI-DOUBLE, 1 bloom per stem, flower size 5 inches (13 cm). Fragrant. Ivory white petals (RHS:155B) have apricot flush at the base, giving an apricot-peach glow to the center of the flower. Three rows of guard petals, average width 2 inches (5 cm), cupped, relaxing as the flower ages. Center petals smaller, folded, notched, somewhat crinkled. Average of 3 carpels, pale green, smooth texture. Stigmas purplish-red with normal anatomy. Pollen bearing stamens at center, filaments pale yellowish green at the base, becoming yellow towards the tips. Fertile both ways. Broad blunt foliage, dark green. Upright growth to 30 inches (76 cm). Healthy plants with vigorous growth and strong stems. Flowers are lightly scented and in form resemble an ancient rose. Named in consultation with the Società Orticola di Lombardia to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the spring flower show organized by them in Milan each year.
