Back to RegistrySeedling number BJ#39; SDX??##1. Parentage: ‘Salmon Dream’ x unknown. First bloomed 2010, first propagated 2013. Previously distributed under the name ‘Portrait’. Early-midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pale yellow, 15.25cm (6″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. The yellow bloom matures to a “frothy” appearance. Guard petals average 5cm (2″) in width. No fragrance noted. Flowers possess on average three tomentose, medium green carpels, with light-pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75″) in length, with yellow filaments. Oblanceolate staminodes are also present, and are yellow in color. Disk is obscure. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 86.4cm (34″) at maturity, and carry broad-pointed, green foliage that provide an accentuating background for the yellow blooms. Foliage at the time of emergence is medium reddish-green. Growth habit is upright, but does benefit from mechanical support.
