Back to RegistrySeedling number TP2 50-83. Parentage: likely P. mascula x Seedling 22-128 (“Moonshine” x OP). First bloomed 2015, first propagated 2017. Early-midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE dusky-pink flowers with a paler petal edge are 15cm (6”) in diameter. Flowers are upward facing, average three per stem, and possess flat guard petals. Fragrance noted. Three moderately hairy carpels with pink stigmas are present. Has pollen, and produces seeds. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75”) long, with white filaments. Staminodal disk is well developed, however color was not recorded at time of registration. Plants reach 75cm (29.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, blue-green foliage. Growth habit is upright, and does not require mechanical support. Noted to be one of the earliest flowering of herbaceous hybrids in the hybridizer’s garden. It’s attractive ornamental bud, frost resistance, and interesting blue-green foliage make it an interesting garden subject. Has been observed to be reliable and healthy. So named as a harbinger of the flowering to come.
