Seedling number 2019-1314. Parentage unknown. First bloomed 2023 first propagated 2023. Early blooming SINGLE to SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are light pink, 15cm (6″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped and notched, and are typically 6.5cm (2.5″) in diameter. Fragrant. Flowers possess on average eight sparsely hairy, green carpels with pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2cm (0.5-0.75″) in length, with pinkish-red filaments that fade to white at the tips. Produces both pollen and seeds. Sheath is partial, and pink in color. Plants reach 55cm (21.5″) at maturity, and carry widely-cut, pointed, green foliage with pink edges. Foliage at time of emergence is yellow-green. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. It drizzled as the flowers blossomed; the light pink petals fresh and refined, like water dancers, free from the world, so named ‘Qing He’, or “fresh and refined”.
