Seedling No. UHS 49. Parentage not given. First year bloomed 2015, first year propagated 2016. Early midseason bloom. SEMI-DOUBLE. Dark red. One flower per stem, 4 – 4½ inches in size, up-facing presentation. Petals rounded, cupped, ruffled, stamens interspersed. Carpels few, 1 on average, cream colored, very hairy. Stigmas white, normal anatomy. Pollen-bearing stamens present, filaments pink. Fertile both ways. Some stamen transformation has occurred, staminodes linear shape, red, with yellow edges. Early foliage emerges burgundy. Height 30-32 inches (76-81 cm), upright growth, supplementary support not needed. Named for Roger Anderson.
