Seedling number 3521. Parentage: ‘Old Faithful’ open pollinated. First bloomed 2019 (or earlier), first propagated 2019. Early-Midseason blooming DOUBLE flowers are ruby-red, 15.25cm (6″) in diameter and 7.6cm (3″) tall, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are flat, twisted, ruffled and notched, and are typically 4cm (1.5″) in diameter. No fragrance noted. Flowers possess on average four smooth, white carpels with white stigmas varying from abortive to normal anatomy. No stamens; occasional staminodes are present with yellow tips that are a nice accent against the ruby-red petals. No pollen, though seed fertility has been noted. Plants reach 68.5cm (27″) at maturity, and carry broad-pointed, green foliage with undertones of purple. Foliage at time of emergence is reddish-purple. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. Very erect stems of low-medium to medium height make for an excellent subject for planting in a designed landscape. Name reflects the color quality of the flower, and the overall excellence of the cultivar. Awarded American Peony Society Seedling Certificate of Merit, 2022 APS Flower Exhibition.
