(Willmottiae x macrophylla) (1949) White faintly flushed. Finest substance. Silvery gray-green foliage, touched with crimson edge. The plant has great style.  Note:  ‘Silver Dawn’ itself no longer exists, but advanced generation offspring under the name “Silver Dawn mix” have been distributed and are often confused with the original plant. Silvia Saunders reported the original Silver Dawn “lost” in 1978, maybe earlier. Chris Laning reported having had it, but it never bloomed for him, froze out every year. It appears to no longer exist any collections (extinct).
