Back to RegistryParentage: lactiflora Martha W. x Golden Era. First year bloomed 2000. Stamens, pollen and no seeds. 1-2 buds per stem, reliable. Excellent stem strength, approx 28″ height, late season, foliage disease resistant, vigorous plant. Semi-double (16-24 petals) tree peony type flowers on herbaceous stems. Flowers are a medium yellow flushed with light pink which remains on the outer most petals as the flowers mature. Flowers are up to 6″ in diameter and have no flares. Large number of lateral buds gives extended period of bloom for up to 2½ weeks. Center contains a circle of stamens with yellow filaments surrounding 3 carpels that are pale green with yellow stigmas. Flowers are displayed on upright to slightly arching stems just above and beyond the foliage making this an excellent landscape variety. Plant is very hardy with stems entirely from below ground over-wintering buds. Excellent dark green foliage that lasts well and turns a pretty red color in the fall. Mild but pleasant fragrance.
