Seedling V8-V. Parentage: ‘Appleton House’ x ‘Mackinac Grand’ SEMI-DOUBLE TO FULL DOUBLE flower form. Early midseason flowering. Intensely dark pink, large flowers (20 cm, 7 inches), 1 per stem. Notched and ruffled, dark pink guard petals measuring 9 cm (3½ inches) in width have white flares with blurred edges. Intense, dark pink, spatulate staminodes with narrow, white flares. None, or up to 3 sparsely haired carpels with dark pink stigmas. Seeds. Stamens with yellow filaments, red at base, exceed ¾ inch. Spreading 90 cm (36 inches) stems with pointed, medium to narrow leaflets, need support. Stoked with hybrid vigor.
