Seedling Number 1720. Parentage ‘Xiang Yu’ x ‘Hanakisoi’. First bloomed 2017, first propagated 2020. Early-midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink (N66D), 16cm (6.3″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are flat, frilled, and notched, and are typically 7cm (2.75”) in diameter. Fragrance noted. Flowers on average possess eight very hairy carpels that are a greenish-yellow, with rose-red stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are less than 1.2cm (0.5”) in length; filaments purplish-red in color at base, cream-yellow near tips. Fertile both ways. Sheath is partial, purple in color. Plants reach about 100cm (39.5″) at maturity, and carry narrow-blunt yellow-green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Floriferous. Named for the flower color, pink and delicate, like cherry blossoms blooming in spring.
